A millionaire for your breeding

With a prize money of 2,5 million Swiss Francs, Tinka’s Boy, without a doubt, is the most successful ‘Swiss’ show jumping horse of all time and belongs to the world’s best stallions.

Who hasn’t heard of Tinka’s Boy, the little athlete for whom no fence was too high.

Equipped with an excellent gallop, comfortable gaits and his fighting spirit, he could tap his full potential on the jump.

His sports career began in Great Britain, where he won the Championship of 4-, 5- and 6-year old show jumpers. This was followed by best results in Nations Cups, such as Aachen, Hickstead and Gijon under Nick Skelton (GBR). At the age of 8, Tinka’s Boy arrived at the stables of Markus Fuchs (SUI), with whom he continued his sports career and reached its zenith. He was the winner of 26 international Grand Prix, won individual and team silver at the European Championship in Hickstead 1999, team bronze at the European Championship in Donaueschingen 2003, team silver at the Olympics in Sydney 2000, won the World Cup Finals in Göteborg 2001, got 2nd in Las Vegas 2000 and 3rd in Mailand 2004. 2006 (2005?) Tinka’s Boy was bid farewell from the show jumping sports and continued his career in breeding. Markus Fuchs once said about Tinka’s Boy: “He’s the horse of my life!”.

Sire: The Dutch stallion Zuidpool has only very few offspring that compete in dressage as well as in show jumping. His sire, the Holstein Amor was imported to Holland in the 60s and used to improve the heavy warmblood breeding to a modern sports horse. He was an assuring factor for excellent dressage horses, but also some very good show jumpers descend from him. Grandsire Herrscher was one of the few Trakehner that was used in Holstein breed. Tinka’s Boy receives the necessary dash of blood from his granddam, a daughter of the thoroughblood Persian Path S xx.

Dam: Esprit, successful in dressage, was sired by the famous Anglo-Norman Zeus. He did good services for warmblood breeding, especially as a refiner and performance sire. When his first progeny started competing at the age of 5, he immediately reached the top of the FN-Year Book. Amongst his best-known offspring are Midnight Madness and Zandor Z. The grandsire Arlequin, an Anglo-Arab, produced a couple of very good show jumpers. Many of Esprit’s siblings and progeny are successful at the highest level in dressage.

Before his prolific sports career, Tinka’s Boy had a couple of offspring that do him great honor. The approved stallion Tinka’s Lad was 2nd at the Championship of 7-year-old jumpers in Great Britain. In 2007, Ringfort Tinkatoo was 12th in the world ranking of eventing and USA champion. Tinka’s Serenade, ridden by Billy Towmey is internationally highly successful, Tinka’s Son won the Grad Prix at the CSIO Linz under Guy Goosen (GBR). But also after his comeback in the breeding business, Tinka Boy’s progeny are in great demand. Therefore, the most expensive foal at the NRW-Auction in 2007 was sired by Tinka’s Boy. Tamango was approved and placed at the Warendorf State Stud. In France, breeding with Tinka’s Boy guarantees you highly awarded foals.
