Gaspahr proves his value at 5* level
The impressively jumping Gaspahr has developed well under Pieter Keunen and is now competing at international Grand Prix level with Giampiero Garofalo. In 2021 they made their debut at 1.60m level and finished in 10th place in the Rolex Grand Prix of Rome, after they had already secured a victory in the Grand Prix of Opglabbeek. In 2022 they triumphed in the 1.50m class of CSI3* Eindhoven and the Grand Prix of Kronenberg. This year Gaspahr will be available by frozen semen only.
With his Italian rider, Gaspahr also made his Nations Cup debut. Paul Hendrix: “Hopefully he can continue to improve his track record with this rider in the coming season and prove his value for the Italian team. Our ultimate goal is competing at the Olympic Games. Gaspahr is achieving good results at 5* level, while his oldest offspring are making a good impression in the young horse competitions.” Gaspahr passes on his quality, conformation and extra rideability. At the Dutch young horse championship in 2021 Gaspahr was represented by outstanding five-year-olds, among others finalist Laska JDV and Lumanda I who finished in fifth place in the final. Gaspahr also sired several descendants that proved quite popular sport horse auctions this year.
For many years, his sire Berlin was a true ambassador for Dutch showjumping under Gerco Schröder. As a progenitor Berlin has distinguished himself thanks to his offspring such as H&M Extra, Athene, Zilverstar T and Zerlin. Also, the damline of Gaspahr has proven its value by producing, among others, Olympic showjumper Sterrehof’s Dante.
